Is parking available?
If you are bringing a vehicle to campus, you may register for parking via the intern registration form. Parking will be available in the East River Road Garage if staying in Yudof Hall, or 21st Ave Ramp if staying in our Traditional Residence Hall. The daily rate for parking is $11.
What dining options are available?
Meal Plan
Meal plans are available for purchase through the Dining Office on campus. With this option you will be able to eat at the available residence hall restaurants on campus. Meal plans are available for purchase to guests after check in by contacting the meal plan office at mealplan@umn.edu.
Dinkytown and Stadium Village
The University of Minnesota campus area offers three distinct neighborhoods that provide a variety of dining and shopping options. Dinkytown and Stadium Village (located on East Bank) and West Bank include everything you need, from dining to drugstores, all within a short walk of campus.
Downtown Minneapolis
Downtown Minneapolis offers a wide range of dining options, from upscale establishments serving gourmet meals to cozy spots for casual bites. You'll find a variety of cuisines, including farm-to-table, global flavors, and classic comfort food.
What do I need to bring?
Linens, blankets, a pillow, and a towel are provided. You should bring your own toiletries and any other personal belongings you will want or need to have during your stay with us. https://uces.umn.edu/stay/bring
Is there transportation available from the airport to campus?
The University does not provide transportation; however, there are many ways to easily access campus, including taxi companies, ride share programs and the public transportation system. For more information on Metro Transit, the public transportation system, visit metrotransit.org.
What time is check-in / check-out?
Check-in is 1 pm.
New residents may arrive for check-in beginning at 1 pm on the first day of their stay and may check-in at any time — The information desk is open 24 hours a day.
Check-out is noon.
Departing residents must check out by noon the final day of their stay. No refunds will be given for early departures.
Where do I go when I arrive?
Please refer to your reservation confirmation email that indicates the residence hall where you will be housed.
Check-in is available at the information desk in the lobby of the assigned building.
I need to cancel my reservation. How do I do that?
Refunds incur a $30 processing fee for credit card processing and administrative costs prior to the cancellation deadline. Cancellations are eligible for a full refund, less the processing fee, up to 14 days prior to arrival on campus. Any cancellations within 14 days prior to arrival will be billed at the full amount owed.
All cancellations must be received in writing. Please submit cancellations to the Conference & Event Services Office at uces@umn.edu. Credit card refunds require credit cardholder information, the last four digits of the credit card used in the initial transaction, and the reason for cancellation.
Please Note
Interns will be billed for the entire amount if cancellation is not received within 14 days prior to their arrival.
Can my spouse/friend stay with me during my stay?
Overnight guests are not allowed without having their own reservation.
Can I reserve a private apartment?
The Intern Housing Program does not offer private apartments. If you have a circumstance that may be the exception to this rule - please contact uces@umn.edu.
