Summer interns stay in the heart of Silicon Valley, with the entire Bay Area accessible through local mass transit.

During the summer, San Jose State approximately houses around 250 Interns from around the country who are working at the many different companies throughout the Silicon Valley.

Intern Housing Options:

Intern Housing is offered in Spartan Village on the Paseo and Campus Village Building B. This housing is for people who are here for summer internships throughout Silicon Valley and need temporary housing for the summer.

SPARTAN VILLAGE ON THE PASEO (SVP)

Spartan Village on the Paseo is located in the south tower of a luxury hotel property adjacent to the Plaza de Cesar Chavez in downtown San José.

Spartan Village on the Paseo is the newest addition to SJSU’s student housing stock, an 11-story dormitory-style facility with multiple, private en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are furnished with a twin extra-long bed, a dresser, a closet, and a desk for each person. Single and double-occupancy rooms are available. Each room has a double or triple layout and will be used as either a single or double occupancy room. Wireless internet is included. Linen and parking are at an additional cost and laundry facilities (operated by credit card or app) are located on each floor. Spartan Village on the Paseo includes a gym located on the second floor.

Spartan Village on the Paseo does NOT have a kitchen or access to a kitchen facility.

CAMPUS VILLAGE B (CVB)

Campus Village Building B (CVB) is the location of the SJSU’s apartments. It is the centerpiece of the Campus Village and features a 15-story tower. It features 4 bedroom apartments equipped with a kitchen (with standard-size oven and stove, full-size refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher), bathroom, and living room area. CVB has all single occupancy bedrooms. This year the apartment will have 4 bedrooms, but only 3 in each apartment will be used, so occupancy will be 3 people in each apartment. Each bedroom is furnished with a twin extra-long bed, a dresser, a closet, and a desk. Wireless internet is included. Linen and parking are additional costs. CVB Includes a formal lounge, a recreational lounge with pool tables, and laundry facilities (operated by credit card or app) located on the first floor of the building. CVB has underground parking and bike racks available for use in the parking garage.

How do I apply for a room?

Applications are available until spaces are full (We usually have enough space to accommodate everyone who applies).

What is the payment schedule/ do you have a payment plan?

You may pay in full (by check or credit card), when you arrive to check in. Or you may pay half at check in, and half by July 1st. All payments must be paid for and finalized by July 1st.

What is the cancellation policy?

All bookings will be held on a tentative basis, both parties (intern & SJSU) have the right to cancel the booking, up until 2 weeks before arrival. Please email: uhs-conferenceassistant@sjsu.edu if you have any further questions about cancellations.

How much does it cost to live in CVB Intern Housing?

For a single bedroom, per person per night = $82.00

For a single bedroom, per person per week = $404.00

How much does it cost to live in SVP Intern Housing?

Is Parking available?

Yes, we have parking in our underground Campus Village (CV) garage.

Prices are $10 per day, $21 per week, or $84 per month.

Motorcycle parking, per month = $20

Can I move in before June 1st?

No, unfortunately, our academic year students are still moving out and we are cleaning the rooms for summer, so no rooms are available before June 1st.

Can I stay past August 5th?

No, unfortunately, our academic year students need to move back in the next week, so we need to clean the rooms for their arrival.

Can I choose my roommates?

Yes, you can choose your roommate on your application. Roommates must select the same room space when applying or they will not be placed in the same room. If you need help please email uhs-conferenceassistant@sjsu.edu to assist you. If you do not have roommates to live with, you will be placed in an apartment with other Interns. Note: For the CVB option roommates are still going to live in single bedrooms but same apartments. For the SVP option people can choose a single occupancy room or can choose to share a room with one other person.

Will I be living with other people?

Yes, if you choose to live in CVB, you will have your own single bedroom in a shared apartment with 2 other interns. If you live in SVP, you can share a residence hall bedroom with one person or you may choose to pay for a single and have the room to yourself.

How and when do I check in?

You will be contacted 2 weeks before your arrival date with check-in and room information. Check-in will be done by sign-ups.

You will receive an email confirmation 2 weeks before arrival confirming your booking. Please keep an eye out for this email. All payments will be collected upon check-in.
