About Us

We are excited to offer our summer housing and conferencing opportunities through our three campus residence halls – the Artists’ Residence, the Tree House, and Smith Hall. All three residence halls offer comfortable, convenient, and affordable summer housing options for you or your group. Our convenient location within Boston grants easy access to the MBTA green line, making our summer housing residents minutes away from nearby downtown shopping, restaurants, historical locations, and entertainment venues. With the variety of amenities across our three residence halls and location in Boston, we feel that summer housing at MassArt offers a unique experience of the city of Boston in summer!

Housing Options

Tree House

Located at 578 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115, the Tree House is a Suite-Style building. Suites feature a combination of single, double, and triple occupancy bedrooms with shared, ensuite bathrooms. The Tree House offers a fitness room, communal kitchen, lounge seating, and a laundry room on the third floor. Whether looking to play a round of pool or gather with friends, this area is a frequent for summer housing residents!

Artists' Residence

Located at 600 Rear Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115, the Artists' Residence is an Apartment-Style building. Units vary from 2 to 4 bedroom apartments with full kitchens and living areas. These units are shared with between 1-3 other guests. The Artists' Residence features two communal outdoor patio spaces on the first floor, complete with all-weather seating options. Residents can also make use of the onsite convenience store, Tessie's market, located just outside the front entrance to the Artists' Residence. 

Smith Hall

Located at 640 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115 is a Suite Style building and has a true dormitory-style feel to it! Units vary from 2 to 4 bedroom apartments with a bathroom shared among suite members. Affectionately known as "The Tank", the first-floor common area features a kitchenette, lounge seating, and billiards table. Smith Hall residents may use this area to relax and enjoy their summer stay!

How To Book

Our summer housing program is operational from June 1st - August 15th (housing agreement start and end dates are flexible within this time period). In order to inquire about our rates and availability, please email capstonemanagement@massart.edu and provide your number of participants, dates of stay, housing preference (hall and room occupancy), conferencing needs (spaces and any specifics), and election of a linen rental package. Please note that we have an application deadline of May 1st, 2025. Any requests for summer housing following this deadline will be accommodated based on availability and operational capacity.

On-Site Amenities

Provided amenities in each residence hall include: full air conditioning, 24-hour courtesy desk staffed by security professionals (secured access), high-speed internet service (wireless as well as Ethernet ports in the rooms), and cable television access. Telephones and televisions are not provided, however guests are welcome to bring their own. Additionally, we are able to offer linen rental (bedding and towels) for an additional fee. Our linen rental package includes a pillow/case, top sheet, fitted sheet, blanket, bath towel, hand towel, and face towel and is available for $40/individual per 4-week period.

Microfridge/minifridge rental can be coordinated through New England Student Services. Please ensure capstonemanagement@massart.edu is CC'd on any emails regarding rentals to ensure our team can assist on arrival.

MassArt residence halls are located along Huntington Avenue in the Mission Hill/Fenway area of Boston. Guests are a short walk away from the legendary Fenway Park as well as MGM Music Hall and multiple restaurants in the Fenway Area. Not looking to attend a Red Sox game but want to see more of the city? Hop on the MBTA Green Line train towards downtown Boston and travel to Park St Station, which connects to multiple MBTA travel routes. With the variety of amenities across our three residence halls and location in Boston, we feel that summer housing at MassArt offers a unique experience of the city of Boston in summer!
